How to get addicted to appreciation by Timm chiusano

I was hoping for Ted Lasso in self-help book form. What I got was a little more Ned Flanders. 😬

Don’t get me wrong, I love a positive outlook! But while this book is bursting with optimism and good intentions, I found myself wishing for a little more nuance, maturity, and realism. Sometimes the relentless positivity felt a bit too simplistic for the complexities of actual life.

It’s a quick read, and if you can’t get enough positive psychology and personal development books, there’s certainly something here for you.

That said, I think this is one best read with your eyeballs rather than your ears. 👀 The book includes activities and exercises that would probably work better on the page. The author narrates the audiobook himself, but I found the production a little uneven, with noticeable shifts in volume and occasional muffled audio that distracted from the experience.

Ultimately, I appreciated the message more than the execution. A worthwhile reminder to notice the good around us, even if the delivery wasn’t quite for me.

🎧 Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the complimentary audiobook through the Macmillan Audio Influencer Program! All opinions are my own.
